Through the PLSA Leadership curriculum, student athletes engage daily in a series of workshops that allow students to develop as global leaders. Moreover, activities allow students to think critically, develop speech communication skills aligned to Common Core State Standards and work with diverse groups of people and more.
Participant’s enrolled in the program will are given the opportunity to grow academically through academic enrichment sessions and individualized intervention. Students are able to complete homework, receive academic intervention services and challenged to set and meet academic goals.
The PLSA Program is committed to developing highly skilled and developed student athletes. Through competitive league play and intense skill building practice/clinics, student athletes are able to compete at high levels of efficiency and skill.
The Court to College Initiative aims to expose student-athletes to institutions of higher education as an avenue to motivate students to pursue four-year colleges and universities. Students tour diverse school options and engage with current athletes and student-leaders on campus.
Students enrolled in the PLSA program gain hands on experience in strategic community planning and social action. Students work cooperatively to make their neighborhoods, schools and city at large a place where all citizens can work together to make a difference.
The Play On Purpose (P.O.P.) Leadership and Sports Academy (PLSA) is a yearlong out of school time partnership between P.O.P. Inc. and The Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women. Through our after school program students get the opportunity to grow academically, athletically and as leaders ready to impact the world!
